BHOPAL: A Zomato delivery executive was killed in a road accident in Gwalior’s Maharajpura area on Monday afternoon after a truck that had entered a no-entry zone rammed into his electric bike.The victim, identified as Sameer Khan, was riding his e-bike on DD Nagar–Patari Road between 3 pm and 3.30 pm when the truck struck him.

Khan, a resident of the Murar police station area near the leather factory, died on the spot.The incident led to protests, with family members and fellow delivery executives blocking the road, leading to long traffic snarls stretching from Gole Ka Mandir to Bhind Road’s Pintoo Park. Police and district administration officials, including the SDM, reached the spot to restore order.Police seized the truck involved in the accident, but the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled. A search is on to trace him.Following assurances from the administration of an immediate cash relief of Rs 1500 and financial assistance of Rs 20,000 to the family, the protesters lifted the blockade.The body was then sent to the mortuary for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
