Six men held for plotting break-in
Rourkela: Six persons were arrested on Sunday allegedly for preparing to commit a dacoity at Kunmuru petrol pump under Rajgangpur police station limits of Sundargarh district on Saturday night.According to sources, the arrests were made following a tip-off received during routine night patrolling on Saturday. Acting on the same, a police team conducted a raid at the suspected location and successfully nabbed all six accused before they could execute their alleged plan.During the operation, police seized a cache of weapons and other incriminating materials, including a country-made firearm, a motorcycle, a sword, two iron knives and two iron rods from the possession of the accused.All six accused have been arrested on Sunday by Rajgangpur police. Police have launched further investigation to ascertain whether the group was linked to any other criminal activities in the region. Following the seizure and arrests, Rajgangpur police registered case under Sections 310(4) and 310(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with Section 25 of the Arms Act.Police officers stated that the arrested persons have criminal antecedents and were reportedly involved in several cases registeredunder the NDPS Act, Arms Act, IPC and BNS. Their criminal antecedents are currently being verified as part of the ongoing investigation. *********
