Cabbie murder: NIA questions JeM trio
Mohali: An NIA team interrogated three operatives linked to the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) Friday. They were arrested by the CIA sleuths of Mohali police in connection with the murder of a taxi driver.Source said the accused — identified as Sahil Bashir, Munish Singh, and Ejaz Ahmed Khan — were questioned one by one at the CIA headquarters in Mohali. The central agency is probing whether the trio was working on specific instructions from their handlers and what targets, if any, were assigned to them.The case dates back to Aug 29, when Nayagaon-based cab driver Anil Kumar was lured to Kharar on the pretext of a booking. He was allegedly abducted by the accused, who drove him around the Tricity before taking him near Kandiala village. There, he was shot dead, and his Swift car was snatched from him. The accused later fled towards Gurdaspur.
