Mohali: A man was allegedly assaulted in the course of a dispute in the Sohana police station area. Police have registered a case against eight persons.
Gurmanraj Singh, 35, a resident of Sohana village, currently living in Sector 91, Mohali, told the police that on Feb 20, at around 7.30 pm, he was on his way to Sector 88 in his car when his vehicle was obstructed by a youth and a woman on a motorcycle. He said they did not give way despite him honking repeatedly.

The complainant said when he asked them to give way, the youth on the motorcycle stopped. Another person came from behind and attacked him on the head with a sharp weapon. Thereafter, he said about six boys and two girls surrounded and beat him up. Then they dragged him into the street while threatening to kill him.
He said an unknown person took him to a doctor. After primary treatment, he was admitted in the civil hospital and discharged the next day. A case has been registered and further investigation is on. tnn
