Man gets 5-year jail for molesting minor

Hisar: A Fatehabad court has convicted a man of molesting a minor girl and sentenced him to five years' imprisonment in a case registered 1.5 years ago.Additional sessions judge Amit Garg convicted Rinklejit Singh alias Rinka and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000. Fatehabad district attorney Devendra Kumar Mittal said an FIR was registered on Aug 19, 2024, after the survivor's father alleged that the accused had molested his daughter and attempted to rape her.The survivor's younger sister, who witnessed the incident, raised the alarm, following which the accused fled the spot, Mittal said.Police later collected evidence, filed a chargesheet under relevant sections, and secured the conviction, he added.
