Man robbed at knifepoint

Chandigarh: An electrician was robbed at knifepoint in Sector 47 on Wednesday night, with two miscreants fleeing with his wallet containing Rs 5,000 and important documents, police said. The complainant, Dinesh, an electrician from Jagatpura village in Mohali, told the police that around 9pm, he was on his way home from work on a bicycle when two men aged between 20 and 25 years intercepted him in Sector 47. He said one of them grabbed his bicycle and tried to snatch his mobile phone. When he resisted, the second accused put a knife to his stomach and took his wallet containing Rs 5,000 and documents. As they fled, Dinesh raised an alarm and chased them for nearly 150 metres. He also appealed to passers-by for help, but no one intervened. The accused fled towards Sector 48.
