Patwari held for taking Rs 50k bribe

Hisar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Ambala, on Friday arrested a patwari posted at the block development and panchayat officer (BDPO) office in Tohana, Fatehabad district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 for facilitating the registry of shamlat land.Acting on a complaint filed by Kuldeep, a resident of Parta village, the ACB team laid a trap, under the supervision of ACB DSP Omprakash Nain, and caught Umed Boora red-handed while accpeting the bribe.Officials said further investigation is underway to ascertain whether the accused was involved in any other illegal activities related to land records and registrations.MSID:: 131120948 413 |
