Kurukshetra: The district police have arrested two accused in connection with the theft of rare antique and heritage utensils from a warehouse and recovered around 200 stolen items from their possession.
Acting on the directions of Kurukshetra SP Nitish Aggarwal, a team of crime investigation agency (CIA)-II arrested Rajat and Yogesh, residents of village Khanpur Koliyan in Kurukshetra district, for stealing rare utensils of historical and heritage value from a warehouse.

Giving details, the police spokesperson said that on January 8, Maha Singh, a resident of Sector 5, Kurukshetra, lodged a complaint stating that he is working as a Director at Kurukshetra University and is developing a heritage hotel near village Masana. A warehouse had been constructed inside the hotel premises, where he had stored antique and heritage utensils collected from various places. On the morning of January 8, upon checking the warehouse, he found that a large number of utensils had been stolen by unknown persons.
Following the complaint, a case was registered at Thanesar Sadar police station and the investigation was handed over to CIA-II.
On January 20, the team of CIA-II led by in-charge inspector Mohan Lal, comprising head constable Jagdeep, ASI Naresh Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, head constable Sanjeev, and constable Vikas Kumar arrested the accused Rajat and Yogesh. During the investigation, approximately 200 stolen antique utensils were recovered from their possession.
The accused were produced before a court of law and, following court orders, were sent to judicial custody.
