Two arrested for assisting shooter in Yamunanagar murder case
Yamunanagar: The crime investigation agency (CIA)-II team has arrested two accused for allegedly assisting the shooter involved in the murder of 45-year-old Satnam Singh, a resident of Bal Chhapar village of Yamunanagar district, who was shot dead on May 11. A Yamunanagar police spokesperson said that the CIA-II team succeeded in arresting the two accused linked to the murder case. The accused have been identified as Ashok Kumar, a resident of Jhujhar Nagar in SAS Nagar district, Punjab, and Inderpal Singh, a resident of Saran village of the district. Both accused were produced before a court on Tuesday and taken on police remand. CIA-II in-charge Rakesh Kumar said that during the investigation, the victim's wife, Praveen Kaur alias Beena, stated that the murder was the result of a long-standing family rivalry. According to her statement, Daljit Singh alias Babu, son of her elder brother-in-law Pritpal Singh and currently residing in the United States, had been harbouring enmity against their family for years.Police said Ashok Kumar and Inderpal Singh allegedly provided assistance and financial support to the shooter involved in Satnam Singh's murder.
