Man held for possessing fake IDs

Coimbatore: Police on Wednesday arrested a 48-year-old Thondamuthur resident, who had in his possession fake identify cards of several foreign spy agencies.
He was identified as Vijay Raman Iyyer, a native of Trichy and a resident of Thondamuthur for the last four years. “He was staying in a rented apartment and was not paying the rent. Police was alerted after he had a quarrel with the apartment manager in an inebriated state and flashed an air pistol,” a police officer said.
Thondamuthur police reached the spot and detained him for inquiry.“He told the officers that he was working for the intelligence service of the government of the United Kingdom. Upon searching his house, fake identity cards of intelligence agencies of several countries were found,” the officer told TOI.
Police seized fake IDs of Mossad, the national intelligence agency of Israel, KGB of Russia, the Intelligence Bureau, a mobile phone and an air pistol from the house. tnn
