HARIDWAR: The Swadeshi Jagran Manch, an RSS-affiliated body, has decided to launch a nationwide campaign against Chinese products and encourage people to buy Indian goods in its place.
On the opening day of a three-day brainstorming camp here on Saturday, Rajiv Kumar, western
Uttar Pradesh convener of the manch, said, “The inaugural session deliberated on chalking out a strategy for a nationwide campaign against Chinese goods, which emerged as a major threat to the domestic market as well as our national security.”
A protest demonstration would also be held at Ramleela Ground in Delhi on October 29 against the Chinese threat to the domestic market and national security, said Kumar.
It was also decided, he said, they would launch a signature campaign during which signature of three crore Indians pledging their support to the campaign would be taken.
“Most of the arrangements have already been done. The signature campaign is part of a larger campaign called ‘Rashtriya Swadeshi Suraksha Abhiyan’, which aims at safeguarding swadeshi products against the Chinese threat,” said Kumar.
Over 200 delegates, swadeshi leaders, economists and environmentalists — mostly from Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh — are participating in the camp, which will deliberate on issues such as genetically-modified crops, foreign direct investment (FDI), ecological imbalance, negative effects of the economic policies on our economy in the past 25 years, and issues related to water, forest and land.
