GHAZIABAD: A CBI court here rejected a plea by Dr Rajesh Talwar for reinvestigation in Aarushi murder case and announced January 7 as the next date of hearing the CBI's closure report in the case.
Aarushi' father, Rajesh Talwar, had filed the protest pleaagainst CBI's closure report requesting that the case not be closed as requestedby the investigating agency.
In his application, he submitted that hewas the "unfortunate parent of Aarushi", who was murdered on the interveningnight of May 15-16, 2008.
In his five-point application, Talwarstated that it was a "heinous" crime and "in the interest of justice", thecentral bureau of investigation (CBI) should not be allowed to close thecase.
Rejecting the plea, the court said, "It is too early to move aplea against closure report."
Earlier in the day, the court registered the CBI's report seeking closure of the
Aarushi Talwar murder case. The court, however, questioned the agency on its haste to shut the case.
Fourteen-year-old Aarushi was found murdered under mysteriouscircumstances in her parents' Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida, Delhi's suburbantown in Uttar Pradesh, May 16, 2008.
The family's domestic help, Hemraj, wasalso found killed on the flat's terrace a day later.
The CBIWednesday moved the Ghaziabad court seeking permission to close the Aarushimurder as an unsolved case on grounds of lack of conclusiveevidence.
The closure report has named Aarushi's dentist fatherRajesh Talwar as the lone suspect in the case and said the crime scene washeavily "dressed up", which could only have been done by the parents.
