In the country, if the LoP is trying to visit to share the pain of victims as an ambassador of peace, when polarisation with respect to religion, caste, region is being attempted, the LoP is committed for country's unity in diversity, everyone's right to live, adherence to the course of law."

"The LoP wants to go to Sambhal to meet people of society who were victim of firing. The way wrong action was taken by the administration, attempts were made to hastily incite violence in a coordinated way by a specific section of the society, the LoP as an ambassador of peace wants to go there and listen to people, give message of peace. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said that he was ready to relinquish his convoy and go to violence-hit Sambhal alone with the police but the authorities had asked him to return after some days, adding that this is against the rights of the LoP and against the Constitution.

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said an independent probe is on in the matter and the opposition should support the government in maintaining peace in Sambhal.
