Delhi MCD Ruckus Live Updates: MCD House adjourned till 10am on Friday

Delhi MCD House Live Updates: The MCD House has been adjourned till 10am on Friday. Chaos was witnesssed in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) House during the election for the members of the standing committee when BJP alleged that during the secret voting, the councillors were taking photographs of the ballots through their mobiles, which is a violation of the secret ballot. The BJP and AAP councillors also came to blows in the house. The uproar began when newly elected mayor Shelly Oberoi declared that mobile phones would be allowed in the polling booth. There was immediate protest from the BJP members, who rushed to the well of the House and said it was against the norms to allow mobile phones in this manner. Oberoi’s view that disallowing phones would amount to hurting the dignity of members found no takers. Stay with TOI for all the latest updates.
