NEW DELHI: Five Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants have been suspected to have sneaked into Delhi from the Kashmir valley, possibly to carry out attacks, warns an intelligence input. These terrorists have been instructed by one LeT commander Jaffar Bhai from J&K to carry out attacks in the city, ahead of Independence day, says the secret report.
Intelligence inputs to Delhi police said the five have been instructed to reach Delhi after August 6 and carry out blasts in Chandni Chowk area to create communal tension.

The IB has named these militants as Zahoor Ahmad Makroo, Khursheed Ahmad Khan, Altaf Mir and Sabzar Ahmad Bhatt. Jaffar had asked them to collect the arms, explosives and money from one Mohammad Ayub in Anantnag and reach Delhi to strike at strategic locations including Chandni Chowk. The report also provides the details of their stay in J&K and how they will procure the explosives and arms.
The security has been beefed up after this input and cops are leaving no stones unturned. A thorough check was carried out in Chandni Chowk with Bomb Disposal Squad and policemen in plain clothes deployed all over the area. Announcement at regular intervals are being made to sensitise the shopkeepers and those coming to the market. A strict vigil is being maintained at the parking lot and other places of public gathering. Police barricades along all important crossways and a screening of vehicles was conducted. Suspected pedestrians were being questioned by the police. However, the Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat denied the reports and said, "No specific threat input about LeT terrorist have been received."
