Man arrested for firing at witness

New Delhi: A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly shooting at a witness and complainant in a 2022 case in outer Delhi's Swaroop Nagar. Police said a PCR call was received early Tuesday after the complainant reported that around 11.50pm on Monday, two men — Abhishek and Deepak — arrived near his garment shop on a scooter and threatened him to withdraw his testimony. Abhishek then allegedly fired two shots, but the complainant escaped. He also alleged that one Ashish had instigated the attackers. A fresh case was registered. Police said the 2022 case involved charges of attempt to commit culpable homicide in connection with a robbery. DCP (outer north) Hareshwar Swami said Abhishek was tracked down and arrested, while the two other accused are being traced. TNN
