MARGAO: Quepem police arrested one more person in connection with the Cabo de Rama torture case, even as the Goa state human rights commission issued a notice to the south Goa superintendent of police (SP) and chief secretary. Both officials have been asked to submit their replies to the three-member commission headed by retired justice P K Mishra by July 1.
On Saturday, Quepem police arrested Azam Sheikh, 29, of Betul.
The case was booked after a video clip showing two youth being beaten up at Cabo de Rama, went viral on social media. The boys were beaten up after they were branded as thieves allegedly involved in stealing articles kept by picnickers inside the boots of their two-wheelers parked at the beach.
