PANAJI: Parts of Goa received mild showers on Tuesday providing much relief from the exasperating heat at the beginning of summer. The India meteorological department (
IMD) said that as per their radar observations, light rain could have occurred near Netravali, Sanguem.
Earlier that day IMD had issued a Nowcast (very short term weather forecasting) warning of an isolated thunderstorm approaching Sanguem and Dharbandora.
"These are areas that are not occupied by a large population since they are located in the eastern part of the state and are mostly hilly areas," said IMD scientist, Rahul M.
The rain however, failed to keep its date with the rest of the state. IMD has also warned of the possibility of rainfall with a slight increase in distribution on Wednesday. Accordingly, IMD has issued a "scattered rainfall" warning for March 15.
