In view of inputs received from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) of a possible terror strike in the state, the South Goa district collector, Sandeep Jacques, on Wednesday promulgated an order under Section 144 of the CrPC.

MARGAO: In view of inputs received from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) of a possible terror strike in the state, the South Goa district collector, Sandeep Jacques, on Wednesday promulgated an order under Section 144 of the CrPC.
According to the order the verification of the identities of guests staying in hotels, lodges and as paying guests in South Goa is mandatory.

As per the district collector's order, the hotels, guest houses and lodges have been directed to maintain a register of their guests and verify their identification and address documents.
Those letting strangers to stay as paying guests and renting out their premises should also first verify these identification documents, while the police will visit these places and verify the details and registers maintained by them.
