Ballari: Panic gripped passengers aboard the Hampi Express after a fire broke out late Wednesday night while the train was en route from Ballari to Bengaluru. The incident occurred near Hagari village in Ballari district around 11.30pm, when the moving train reportedly caught fire, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. Railway authorities promptly halted the train, and the fire, which just began to spread, was quickly brought under control. According to Ballari railway police, no passengers were injured or affected in the incident. After ensuring safety and extinguishing the flames, the train resumed its journey. Police officials stated that the exact cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed, though initial indications point to a possible short circuit. Meanwhile, the Railways department has not issued any official statement regarding the incident so far.
