Two forest watchers die in road crash

Hosapete (Vijayanagara): Two contract forest department watchers travelling on a bike died on the spot on Sunday night, near Venkatapura village. The deceased have been identified as Krishna, 26, from Kamalapura and Hanumanthappa, 50, from Venkatapura. Both were working as guards on a contract basis for the forest department. The accident happened while they were on night duty. As they were travelling on their bike, a speeding Bolero goods vehicle collided with them forcefully. The impact of the collision caused both to sustain severe injuries, and they died instantly at the scene. Upon receiving the news of the accident, Hampi CPI Rajesh Bhatgurki visited the site and conducted an inspection. Police have seized the vehicle responsible for the incident. A case has been registered at Kamalapura police station, and further investigation is under way.
