Order CBI to release 58kg gold ornaments seized: Gali Janardhan Reddy to Telangana HC

Gali Janardhan Reddy, recently convicted in an illegal mining case, has petitioned the Telangana High Court. He is seeking the return of 58 kg of gold ornaments seized from his residence in 2011. Reddy claims the ornaments are unrelated to the mining case and were purchased before the CBI investigation began.

HYDERABAD: Mining baron and Karnataka MLA Gali Janardhan Reddy, who was recently convicted in the illegal mining case by a CBI court, has approached the Telangana high court seeking directions to the CBI to return 58 kg gold ornaments seized from his Bellary residence on Sept 5, 2011. The petitioner in his plea said that these ornaments have no link to illegal mining case. He claimed they were bought prior to the CBI case . After CBI counsel Srinivas Kapatia sought time to file a counter, Justice K Lakshman posted the case to July 23.
