HYDERABAD: A sex maniac, who posed as a career counsellor and physically abused scores of girls, was found to have a database of nearly 5,000 young females, Telangana police said after arresting the offender on Friday.
K Madhu, the offender, is a suspended manager in Food Corporation of India (FCI). Several of the victims had lodged a complaint against him last Wednesday and after taking Madhu into custody the same day and grilling him, Central Crime Station sleuths formally arrested him on Friday.
Operating from various internet centres, Madhu collected data of young girls by downloading the profiles of students appearing for various exams like SSC, Intermediate etc. “He obtained the profiles of girls/women who took PG entrance exams. He also downloaded the profiles of girls who applied for OUCET-2015. He used to store all the data in a pen drive and saved the same in his laptop. We discovered that he had maintained a database of about 5,000 girls,” additional commissioner of police (Crime) Swati Lakra said at a press conference.
According to the police, with the help of the information he has gathered, Madhu would pose as a career counsellor and call up the girls. He would then lure his victims to a rented house in Bandlaguda in Nagole and sexually abuse them, the police said. If the victims rejected his sexual advances, he would let them go. But later, he would call them and blackmail them by claiming he has some obscene photos of them and that he would upload the same on social networking media websites.
“After such threats, some of the girls would surrender to his sexual needs. Some, who did not give in despite being blackmailed, he would classify them as ‘waste' and those who shout at him were classified as 'danger' in his database,” said Lakra. In the past too, the accused was arrested in similar cases, she added.
