TDP MP aided scam accused: Cong

HYDERABAD: Shadnagar MLA P Shankar Rao alleged that TDP MP from Nagarkurnool M Jagannatham has aided and abetted Motia Naik, the main accused in the multi-crore scholarship scam.
Shankar Rao challenged the government to order either a CBI or a house committee probe to enquire the connections between Naik and the MP and offered to provide the required evidence.
"If any of the probes find that my allegations are untrue, I will hang myself at the statue of Ambedkar near Tank Bund," the Congress MLA announced at a press conference on Monday.
Shankar Rao said Motia Naik in his confessional statement before the city police, who probed the scam, mentioned that he paid several lakhs of rupees to Jagannatham and helped in constructing a house on Sagar Road.
Rao also alleged that former Shadnagar MLA from TDP B Narsimhulu provided shelter to some people accused in a murder case.
"P Jangaiah of Udtyal village in Balangar mandal was brutally killed on July 27 for questioning the Janmabhoomi programe. Jangaiah even asked for police protection fearing threat to his life," Shankar Rao pointed out.
