HYDERABAD: Tollywood movie "Baby" fame Nithin was caught red-handed by passersby after he snatched a gold chain from a woman at Maitrivanam X Roads, Ameerpet, on Tuesday.
Two youngsters, A. Teja and K. Shiva, nabbed him while he was running away from the spot and handed him over to the cops.
Madhura Nagar Police registered a snatching case against him and sent him to judicial remand.
Meanwhile, DCP West Zone SM Vijay Kumar felicitated the youngsters on Thursday and appreciated them for their brave act in preventing a crime.
The incident happened when the woman, 20, working for a private firm, was at the bus stop waiting for a bus. The accused approached her on foot, snatched her gold chain, and took to his heels.
As she raised an alarm, Teja and Shiva rushed to her rescue, chased the snatcher, and caught him.
