Cong condemns bid to arrest youth leader, demands Prez Rule in conflict-torn state

Imphal: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday strongly condemned police attempt to arrest youth party president, Ningthoujam Popilal, and another worker for taking part in a rally to submit a memorandum to the governor a day earlier. MPCC spokesperson Rabi Khan told the media at Congress Bhavan that the party, along with 10 others, are left with no choice but to demand President Rule in the state as the state government has failed to contain the ongoing strife, reports N Benson Singh.
