CHANDIGARH: Congress MP in Rajya Sabha
Deepender Singh Hooda on Tuesday lambasted the CM Manohar Kattar claiming that the youth of Haryana are being deprived of government jobs under a conspiracy and the BJP-JJP government, which talks about giving reservation to 75 per cent local people in private jobs, is actually following a policy of recruiting outsiders in 75 per cent government jobs.
Addressing a press conference here he shared statistics on the issue of unemployment. He said the state government often denies the unemployment figures presented by CMIE, but now the Central Government itself has exposed BJP-JJP state government.
“In an answer to a question in the Parliament regarding unemployment, the Central Government had admitted that Haryana is the number one state in unemployment. Not only this, Union minister of state for labor and employment Rameshwar Teli said that unemployment in Haryana has increased 3 times after the formation of BJP government. The unemployment rate which was 2.9% during the Congress government in 2013-14, has today reached around 9.0%, which is the highest in the country. The unemployment rate at the national level is 4.1%, which means unemployment in Haryana is more than double the national average,” he said.
Deepender said he was shocked to know that the state that surrounds the national capital from three sides, a state which had vast employment opportunities, which was number one in investment before 2014, is today number one in unemployment rate. “After going deeper into it, it was found that the BJP-JJP government is ignoring Haryana youth in every recruitment and is giving priority to non-Haryana youth in jobs,” he stated.
Hooda also shared the details as how non Haryana domiciled were given preference over local youths by HPSE and HSSC.
"HPSC had announced recruitment for 600 ADO posts for the Agriculture Department. But only 57 candidates passed, and were called for interview and out of them only 50 were selected.Surprisingly, out of 23 posts of general category in the recruitment, candidates from outside Haryana were selected on 16 posts," He said while quoting a few and added that Earlier, in the recruitment of SDO Electrical held in February 2021, 99 people were selected for 90 posts. Of these, 77 were from outside and only 22 were from Haryana.
