Woman working as domestic cook held with MD drugs worth over Rs 3 lakh
Indore: The crime branch of Indore police on Tuesday night arrested a woman and seized 34.6 gram MD drugs from her possession. The contraband, concealed inside her handbag, is estimated to be worth Rs 3.40 lakh in the international market.Additional DCP crime branch Rajesh Dandotiya said the team ran a sustained drive against the illegal narcotics trade and those involved in drug trafficking across the city. Acting on specific inputs, officials conducted surveillance and checked suspicious movements in different areas when they spotted a woman near Sanwariya Greens Marriage Garden, close to Regional Park.

Police said the woman appeared nervous on seeing the team and attempted to evade questioning. Her conduct raised suspicion, prompting the officers to surround and detain her. During questioning, she allegedly gave inconsistent replies. Later, she identified herself as Fatima Mansoori, a resident of Mumbai in Maharashtra.A woman constable conducted her search, during which 34.6 gram of MD drugs were recovered from her handbag. The seized narcotics are valued at Rs 3.40 lakh in the international market.
A case was registered against her under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused allegedly procured the drugs at a lower price and supplied them to addicts in Indore at higher rates to earn quick money. Police are probing how and when she reached Indore from Mumbai and identifying the local contacts to whom she supplied the contraband.Investigators also found that the woman studied up to Class XII and worked as a domestic cook, preparing meals at different households. Officials said efforts are on to trace her supply chain and ascertain whether she is linked to a larger interstate narcotics network.
