Jammu And Kashmir Flash Floods Live Updates: CM Omar Abdullah briefs PM Modi on worst-hit areas; thanks him for 'assurance of assistance'
Jammu And Kashmir Flash Floods Live Updates: Torrential rains have wreaked havoc across Jammu and Kashmir, causing landslides, flash floods, road cave-ins, and house collapses across multiple districts. At least 31 people have died, with officials warning the toll may rise as many remain missing. A massive landslide near the Vaishno Devi shrine killed six people, prompting suspension of the pilgrimage. Train services have been cancelled, communication lines snapped, schools shut, and highways blocked, as swollen rivers washed away bridges and inundated low-lying areas. Relief operations are underway, with thousands evacuated, but the Meteorological Department has warned of more heavy rainfall and flash floods till August 27.
