Jammu: J&K Police on Sunday arrested six drug peddlers, including two women, in two separate cases from Nagrota and
Udhampur, and seized a total of 284 gms of heroin-like substance and Rs 4 lakh cash from the possession of the accused persons.
In Nagrota, acting on a tip-off, police arrested Shabir Choudhary, Shakeel Ahmed, Farooq Choudhary, and Waseem Akram selling narcotics in an SUV near TCP bypass area, while Arif Choudhary fled away after seeing the police party. Police seized 265 gms of heroin-like substance worth 27 lakhs along with Rs 4,05,700 cash from the dashboard of the vehicle.
In Udhampur, two women drug peddlers — Halima and Nishad Begum -- were caught selling drugs in the Debrah area of Krimchi, police said. About 19 gms of heroine-like substance was recovered from both women.
