Elderly man killed in buffalo attack in Kalamassery

Kochi: An elderly man was killed in an attack by a buffalo in Kalamassery. The incident occurred on Saturday around 7pm at Kaipadamugal in Kalamassery.The deceased was Abu, 73, from Kollamkudi House in Kaipadamugal. The buffalo, which broke free from a nearby field, attacked Abu when he tried to chase the buffalo away after seeing it uproot trees near his house. Although locals attempted to rescue him upon hearing his cries, the buffalo continued to assault Abu. Even though locals rushed him to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to the injuries. According to reports, he had sustained severe injuries to his chest and legs. By the time the fire force arrived the buffalo calmed down after seeing its owner. Kalamassery police stated that a case of unnatural death has been registered regarding the incident.
