Kolhapur: The decision to step down from party's highest post was right, however,
Sharad Pawar has always kept party workers close to his heart and listens them in the times of crisis and acts accordingly, said
Saroj Patil, sister of Sharad Pawar.
Speaking to TOI, Saroj said, “People love him a lot. They were not going to listen, which Sharad learnt in the last few days. Therefore, he retracted his earlier decision.
I feel that now he has sensed the feelings and deep respect in the minds of party workers.”
She added that things will be easy for him even though he is getting old and he will work with more energy. He will go for the reforms he wants to undertake in his party as per the wishes of the young generation.
Saroj, who heads the Maharashtra Andhashradhha Nirmoolan Samiti, said Pawar should take up the task to build a leader to replace him. “At some time, he has to move away and make way for the younger blood to take over the party reins. I am sure he understands this deeply than anyone else.” Patil said, “I am going to meet him during the meeting of Rayat Shikshan Sanstha at Satara. Before that I will try to speak him.”
