Former MLA K K Narayanan passes away

Kannur: Senior CPM leader and former Dharmadam MLA K K Narayanan passed away at a private hospital in Kannur on Tuesday. He was 77.He was admitted to the hospital in the morning after collapsing while attending an event at Peralassery School in Kannur. The body will be kept at Peralassery School for the public to pay respect from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Later, the body will be taken to CPM Edakkadu area committee office and to party district committee office, where party leaders and workers will pay homage to the Communist leader. His funeral will be held at Payyambalam Beach in the evening. He represented Dharmadam assembly constituency, the home constituency of CM Pinarayi Vijayan, from 2011 to 2016. He served as Kannur district panchayat president from 2005 to 2010. He also held the post of president at AKG Hospital, Kannur and Kannur district cooperative bank. He worked as a member of CPM Kannur district secretariat for a long period.
