PRD officer suspended in Kannur

Kannur: An official of district information office in Kannur was suspended, following a controversial press release issued by the officer in connection with a complaint lodged by LDF candidate in Azhikode assembly constituency.District collector Arun Vijayan, who is the district election officer, took the disciplinary action based on a complaint by UDF. The official allegedly released the details of a complaint filed by LDF candidate K V Sumesh against UDF leadership to the district collector. In the complaint, it was alleged that Sumesh was subjected to character assassination by UDF. Congress district leadership protested alleging that PRD official was engaged in political propaganda.
