Kozhikode: Two more restaurants in Malappuram have been booked for using images of Lord Krishna alongside the meat-based dish ‘kuzhimanthi' on advertisements shared on social media.
Kottakkal police have registered case against unidentified persons in connection with the Vishu greetings message posted on social media in the name of restaurants Arabian Majlis and Raydhan.
According to the FIR, the post had visuals of kuzhimanthi placed before the image of Lord Krishna.
The case has been registered under Section 192 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for acts allegedly intended to provoke unrest following a complaint lodged by Kottakkal native Venugoplan.
A day earlier, the owners of a restaurant in Tirurkad were arrested for sharing a similar Vishu advertisement on social media platforms.
