Woman & man found dead: Cops suspect murder-suicide

Kannur: In a suspected case of murder-suicide, a woman and a man were found dead in separate locations in Kannur on Wednesday. The deceased are K V Seema (50), and her neighbour K P Vijayan (50), of Cherukunnu, Kannur.Seema was found dead inside a room at a private lodge at Parassinikkadavu, while Vijayan who stayed with her at the lodge, was later found hanging from a tree at Mattoor.Police said Vijayan left the lodge by 6pm after locking the room and did not return. Suspecting something was wrong, lodge staff called him over phone, but his mobile was found switched off. Soon they alerted police. When police broke open room, Seema was found dead on the bed with injuries on her neck. Police launched a search for Vijayan and he was later found dead at Mattoor. Police added that Vijayan and Seema, whose husband had died earlier, had stayed at the lodge last month as well.Police suspect Seema was strangled to death by Vijayan and later he committed suicide. Bodies were shifted to medical college for autopsy. TNN
