Lucknow: The UP BJP will stage a statewide protest on Wednesday against the alleged “indecent and objectionable” remarks made by
Samajwadi Party MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi against
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently.
Announcing the protest programme, state general secretary Sanjay Rai said demonstrations would be organised at district collectorate premises across the state. He said women office-bearers, public representatives and party workers would take part in the protests.
He said the language being used by the SP was against the healthy traditions of Indian democracy and political discourse.
“Using abusive and inappropriate language at a personal level in the name of political opposition is unacceptable and against the dignity of democratic politics. The BJP will not tolerate such conduct and will strongly oppose it,” he said.
The BJP functionary accused the SP of lowering the standards of political discourse, asserting that the party would register its protest strongly across all districts of the state.
