Lucknow: Bengali band Borno Anonyo created quiet intensity and reflection with a concert in which music unfolded as an emotional journey rather than just a performance. Rooted in Bengal yet open to the world, the ensemble's sound moved fluidly between folk memory and contemporary expression, resonating deeply with audience on Sunday at 17th edition of the Mahindra Sanatkada Festival.
Rejecting easy definitions of fusion, the band created conversations between Rabindrasangeet and Rock & Roll, Baul Fakir mystic traditions and Jazz, Hindustani ragas and Western classical harmonies. Compositions like ‘Laaley Laal', ‘Prarthona', ‘Ghoomer Nodi', and ‘Dinante' explored homecoming, longing, urban life and shared human emotions.
