Nidhi fears backlash from Amarmani
LUCKNOW: Swearing to turn herself intoa human bomb and blow up Amarmani Tripathi, if she failed to bring to books thekillers of her poetess sister Madhumita Shukla, Nidhi Shukla on Thursday wentunderground from her Lakhimpur residence, along with her mother and twosiblings. Fearing a backlash from a desperate Tripathi, who is threatening toget the family liquidated to eliminate evidences, Nidhi said, "anything couldhappen to me and my family before February 24, the date when the bailcancellation application filed by CBI against Amarmani is to be taken up forhearing". The family is now seeking an appointment with the President to requestfor security even as it continue to stay underground.Talking to TOIon phone Nidhi said, "Life has been a hell ever since we dared to accuseAmarmani Tripathi of having got my sister murdered. There has not been a day whenwe had passed off fearing an attack.Every time we go out of the house, we arenot sure if we would return safely."Commenting on the series ofthreats that the Shuklas have received till now, Nidhi said, "Only on Mondaymorning when we were going out of our house to make a phone call from a PCO thatAmarmani’s men intercepted us."
One of them asked her "Ab akhiri khelhai... humein aaj dopahar tuk jawab chahiye ... tum log chup chap yeh likh karde do ki tumhara koi interest naheen hai is case mein" (Now this is the lastepisode. I want an answer by afternoon. You people give it in writingthat you have no interest in the case)."All this is happening rightbefore the eyes of the security personnel at our house who act more asAmarmani’s eyes and ears than as our security personnel," she said. "Withthe state government working on the whims and fancies of the MLA, we expect norelief from that end. Now we will beg before the President to help us," Nidhiadded.Fearing that in order to give a twist to the case, Amarmanimay get money, drugs, firearms or anything planted inside their Lakhimpur house,Nidhi said: "He is desperate because he knows that there is no scope for himbeyond the Supreme Court. So he can get anything done." Nidhi explained thatAmarmani’s application before a court in UP that he was willing to providesecurity to Madhumita’s family was a part of the design, because he wantedthe Shuklas to agree on the issue and then get them bumped off. "It would havebeen more than easy for him to say that we were killed by his political rivals,"Nidhi explained. The extent to which the Shuklas are scared of abacklash from Amarmani can be gauged from the fact that Nidhi had even informedthe CBI that if she is found to be changing her statements then the agencyshould ensure if all the four members of Shukla household were safe and soundand then believe her changed statement accordingly. "Nothing in this world, noamount of money or even fear can hold us back from bringing Amarmani to book",she said confidently.
