Pvt security man shoots self with licensed gun

Lucknow: A 52-year-old private security agency supervisor died by suicide, shooting himself with his licensed revolver, in Vikas Nagar area late Thursday, police said.Sandeep Singh, supervisor in Shriram Security Agency, took the extreme step at his residence in Sector-C of Saboli locality. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. Police said he was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of shooting himself dead.According to family members, Singh was alone inside a room around 10 pm when he placed the revolver to his temple and fired. Hearing the gunshot, relatives rushed in and found him with a severe head injury. He was taken to the Trauma Centre but was declared brought dead.Police received information via Dial-112 around 12:22 am and reached the spot. The licensed weapon and bloodstains were found in the room. A forensic team examined the scene and collected evidence.SHO Vikas Nagar Alok Singh said the body was sent for post mortem. “Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, but all angles are being probed,” he said.
