SP, RKP announce Parishad candidates

LUCKNOW: The Samajwadi Party on Tuesday announced the names of four candidates, while the Rashtriya Kranti Party announced three names for the Vidhan Parishad local bodies polls.

LUCKNOW: The Samajwadi Party on Tuesday announced the names of four candidates, while the Rashtriya Kranti Party announced three names for the Vidhan Parishad local bodies polls.
With Tuesday’s announcement, the total number of candidates announced by the SP for the parishad polls has gone up to 24. After having given the ticket to BJP rebel Bharat Tripathi on Monday to contest from Sitapur, the SP accomodated another rebel Ajit Singh on Tuesday.

Singh will contest the polls for the Lucknow-Unnao seat. The other candidates announced are Dhirendra Bahadur Singh (Lakhimpur), Avdhesh Kumar (Etah-Mainpuri-Mathura) and Dinesh Pratap Singh (Rai Bareli).
Of the three seats which have fallen in RKP’s quota, the party has announced the names for all.
Party president Kalyan Singh has announced Kripal Singh as the candidate for the Aligarh-Hathras seat, Sudhakar Verma for the Mathura-Etah-Mainpuri seat and Ghanshyam Singh for the Bareilly-Rampur seat.
