A tragic incident occurred in Sitapur's Suketha village. Three individuals died while trying to save a child from a septic tank. The boy, Vivek Gupta, entered the tank to retrieve a polythene bag and began suffocating. Anil Gupta, Raj Kumar, and Rangilal entered the tank to rescue him but succumbed to toxic fumes. Police are investigating the unfortunate event.

LUCKNOW: Three people died after entering a septic tank to rescue a child in the Sakran police station area of Sitapur on Sunday.The incident took place at the residence of Anil Gupta (40) in Suketha village, where septic tank cleaning was under way. A polythene bag had become stuck inside the tank, and 10-year-old Vivek Gupta was asked to go inside and remove it. Soon after entering, the boy began to suffocate.Hearing his cries, Anil rushed into the tank, pulled the child out, and then attempted to remove the polythene himself. He lost consciousness and fell into the tank. Neighbours Raj Kumar (45) and Rangilal (45) then entered one after another to save him but were also overcome by the toxic fumes.When none of them came out, family members raised an alarm and informed the police. A team from Sakran police station, with the help of local villagers, managed to bring all three men out and rushed them to hospital. Doctors declared them dead on arrival. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.The child was admitted to hospital for treatment and is undergoing medical care.Inspector-in-Charge of Sakran, Navneet Mishra, said the cleaning work at Anil Gupta’s residence led to the tragic loss of three lives, as each man entered the tank in an attempt to rescue the other.
