Madurai: Former minister and Madurai West MLA Sellur K Raju has said that inaction on pressing issues by the ruling
DMK is forcing
AIADMK to petition the governor.
Sellur K
Raju was speaking to reporters after inaugurating various infrastructure projects in his constituency.
On Monday, the AIADMK led by opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami will submit a petition to the governor.
He said former finance minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan had alleged that the DMK is involved in 30,000crore scam and that the party was riddled with corruption.
Raju criticised the government for not announcing compensation to the victims of Chithirai festival accident while sanctioning 10 lakh for hooch victims and 50,000 for hooch seller too.
Raju alleged that the attitude of excise minister V Senthil Balaji is even worse. Tasmac outlets are blatantly collecting 10 per quarter bottle and 15 for half-bottle of liquor.
Officials who do not cooperate with this scam are transferred. Bureaucrats are the ones who execute government projects, but even they are being threatened by politicians, he said.
