Madurai collector leads marathon to promote 100% voter turnout

Madurai: Madurai district election officer and district collector K J Praveen Kumar, participated in a marathon at the Madurai district collectorate premises on Tuesday, emphasising 100% voter turnout with the slogan "My Vote, My Duty". The event was conducted as part of SVEEP (systematic voters education and electoral participation) programme.School and college students took an oath to ensure voter participation. The run, which started at the collectorate, followed a route going past Gandhi Museum, Tamukkam Ground, American College, Goripalayam and ending back at the collectorate. Following the run, the collector also led the students in taking a pledge and setting up a promise wall, ensuring 100% voter participation and decorating it with post-it notes. They also planted saplings as a symbol of ensuring ethical voter participation.
