Gym trainer held for sexually exploiting woman, raping her minor daughter

Meerut: A 37-year-old gym trainer in Meerut was arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting a school teacher and raping her 14-year-old daughter over several months, police said on Thursday.The 38-year-old woman told police that she joined the gym four years ago, where she came into contact with the trainer. Divorced and working in a school, she developed a friendship with him, which soon turned into a relationship, and he allegedly maintained physical relations with her during this period, she told police.As per the complaint, the trainer started visiting her home regularly and also befriended her minor daughter, often taking her to and from school. On Tuesday, the teacher allegedly found obscene chats on her daughter's mobile phone, purportedly between the girl and the trainer, and confronted her.The girl then disclosed that the accused had raped her multiple times since Oct and threatened to kill her mother if she revealed about it to anyone.Based on the complaint, an FIR under BNS sections 123 (causing hurt by means of poison), 65(1) (rape), 351 (criminal intimidation), and 3/4 of the Pocso Act was registered against the accused.Police subsequently laid a trap after the woman called the trainer to her house on the pretext of a meeting, and he was arrested upon arrival."We are finding out if he exploited other women in the gym as well," said SP City Ayush Vikram Singh. He is also married and has two children, police said.
