CBI searches home of Congressman’s son in ‘108’ scam
MUMBAI: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday said it had conducted searches at the residences of senior Congress leader Vayalar Ravi’s son Ravi Krishna and that of directors of Ziqitza Health Care—Sweta Mangal and Naresh Jain—in an alleged ambulance scam case in Rajasthan. A CBI spokesperson said that the agency had searched the residences of Mangal, Jain and Krishna, the current directors of Ziqitza Health Care in Mumbai on Saturday. However, the spokesperson refused to divulge any further details. This comes a day after the probe agency booked directors of the Mumbai-based company—former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot of the Congress, his party colleague Sachin Pilot, Karti and Ravi Krishna, who are the sons of senior Congress politicians P Chidambaram and Vayalar Ravi respectively besides government officials for the alleged scam. It has been alleged that the directors of the company were helped by politicians and public servants to bag the contract to run the '108' ambulance service in Rajasthan. The CBI case is that the politicians and officials conspired and tweaked the technical specifications of the tender in the favour of the company.
