Mumbai vendor stabs hawker to death, arrested
Mumbai: Mulund police arrested a 42-year-old vegetable vendor for allegedly stabbing a 31-year-old hawker to death after he suspected the deceased was defaming his wife's character in public on Saturday.The deceased, identified as Santosh Kumar Bind, was in the market area of JN Road at 9.30 pm when the accused, Rakesh Dhiver, confronted Bind and began stabbing him with a sharp object multiple times. Bind sustained severe injuries on his face and body and was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead before admission. Vishal Bind, the younger brother of the deceased, lodged an FIR against the accused. Dhiver was produced before a court on Sunday and demanded in police custody till May 7.
