MYSORE: The inter-city meet on disaster management hosted by Rotary Club of Mysore North, is focusing on issues like flood and cyclone, earthquake and tsunami and fire disasters. There is also a paper on industrial and chemical disasters at the day-long meet at Rotary West Association hall in Saraswathipuram.
Chairman of the inter-city meet G R Parameshwarappa on Thursday said, they are organizing the event to equip the citizens about disasters.
This is also to create awareness, he told reporters. Experts include SJCE professor S K Prasad, senior faculty from the IISc T G Seetharam and deputy director of factories D C Jagadeesh. Chief fire officer K U Ramesh is also attending the meet. The state government's disaster management authority member Woody P Krishna will deliver the keynote address. Rotary district governor K Ravi Appaji will inaugurate.
The meet includes interaction on the measures the government has taken on the disaster management.
