Mysuru: The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS), along with several labour, women, students’, Dalit and youth organisations, will launch a weeklong agitation demanding from the Union and state governments minimum support price for all agriculture producers from April 12.
Speaking to reporters here, Raitha Sangha district unit president Hosuru Kumar said both the governments had promised to constitute a panel to ensure a minimum support price guarantee for all farm produce after the withdrawal of the three farm laws it introduced last year.
Extending support to the nationwide protest calls given by Samyukta Kisan Morcha to bring pressure upon the government to constitute this panel, district units of farmers and other organisations have also taken part in this protest. Weeklong protests, seminars, workshops and rallies will be held across the state to mount pressure on the government.

Yogendra Yadav will open the event at Kalamandir on April 12 at 11 am. Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha chief Badagalapura Nagendra, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti convener Guruprasad Keregodu, Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha president GC Baiyareddy and other activists will take part. KRRS activists will hold a symbolic protest in front of the office of MP Pratap Simha at the Jaladarshini Guest House and APMC premises the same day, he said.
