Nagpur: Lakadganj police have arrested two youths for deliberately ramming a scooter into an on-duty traffic constable, leaving him injured during vehicle checks on Dhulivandan on Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 6.10pm at Chandrashekhar Azad chowk, where a police team, led by complainant Pradeep Shrirao, was conducting vehicle inspections. A Hero Maestro, carrying the two accused, approached at high speed and swerved recklessly in an attempt to evade the checks. The two-wheeler struck constable Sanjay Gite with force, causing him to fall and sustain serious injuries to head, hands, and legs.
The two-wheeler then collided with road divider but the youths attempted to flee the scene. They were swiftly pursued and apprehended by the police team.

The arrested have been identified as Rupesh Uike (23) and Gaurav Chavan (21), both residents of Nandanvan slum.
